Requirements to apply for the PMI-ACP® (PMI® eligibility)
PMI® has requirements before you can apply for the exam. In a nutshell:
- High school diploma (or higher)
- Agile experience: one of the PMI supported pathways (e.g., 2 years of agile experience within the last 5 years; or PMP; or other accepted combinations).
- Agile practices training: 28 hours of formal training in agile practices, frameworks and methodologies (This training is provided with the course you are viewing right now).

Frequently asked questions about ACP® certification
What is the PMI-ACP® exam like?
The exam consists of 120 multiple choice questions in different available languages such as Spanish among others. The duration is 180 minutes (3 hours) + 10 minutes break.
You can take the exam online or in person at a Pearson VUE center. Always supervised.
How long does the current certification last?
The certification remains active on a 3-year cycle. To renew you need to report 30 PDUs (professional development units) within the cycle and complete the renewal process, which includes a renewal fee. With us you will be able to renew all 30 PDUs, but the renewal fee is paid to PMI.
Does the certification include a digital badge?
PMI issues digital credentials (badge) for certifications. At BEPM we guide you on where to display it and how to share it on LinkedIn.
Do I need previous experience to obtain this certificate?
To take the exam you need to meet PMI’s eligibility requirements. If you are already working on agile projects/teams, you will get much more out of the examples and cases. But we repeat: the important thing is to get started. Here we train you from the beginning and guide you to prepare your application.
